Bethel #19 News Update

The young ladies of the International Order of Job’s Daughters, Bethel #19 were well represented this year at the Arizona Grand Session of Grand Bethel. We again, maintain the high mark of the largest Bethel in the State, sending 18 girls to the conference.

The girls competed in many activities on both individual and group basis. Activities included ritual competition, sew and show, art, choir, novelty skits, and the prestigious Jr. Miss and Miss Arizona Job’s Daughter Pageant.

The highest Award for group competition is the Ritual. Each girl is graded on their speaking parts, jesters, marching lines, bethel arrangement, and the overall commencement of

ceremonies. We are proud to announce that our daughters were awarded first place.

Likewise, we are pleased to present our Ms. Nancy Gutknecht as this years Miss Arizona Job’s Daughter 2007-2008. She was judged on several items including ritual resuscitation, written test, and personal interviews.

Likewise, Our daughters, Kaleigh Walker received first place in sew and show with a black sparkly skirt, and Ashley Stetham received second place in art with a painting including all the symbols of the Masonic bodies on it.

Congratulations to the daughters on their individual achievement, and to the Bethel for a job well done. Many thanks need to go to Ms. Kim Barfield, Bethel Guardian and Mr. Doug Ryan, Associate Bethel Guardian and the parents of our daughters for making our Bethel something special.

As we continue to grow, we recognize the unique bond between our daughters, the adults, and the influence and support of our Masonic family. Thank you Masons and Eastern Star for your support. We are your future members and leaders.

The Bethel meets on the Second and Forth Monday of the month starting in September at 7:00 p.m. If you know a girl, ages 10 to 20, with Masonic heritage, introduce them to the Bethel, the opportunities are endless to what these daughters can do.

INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF JOB’S DAUGHTERS, BETHEL #19 NEWS by Scot Baker, JW

The young ladies of Bethel #19 made a run to the mountains in Prescott, Arizona to enjoy a weekend of fun and activities during the annual I.O.J.D. Camp Out in January. Our Bethel was well represented, serving as the largest bethel in the state. Snow was on the ground and the weather was perfect.

Much toilet paper was distributed throughout Friendly Pines Camp Grounds. Group activities on teamwork were performed, and friendships were made throughout the state. It is also a pleasure to see so many parents taking an active role in the Bethel activities.

If you know of a girl, age 10 to 20, whom has Masonic heritage. Come introduce them to the Bethel #19.
